For months now we have been observing a pattern with Gabriel. He will suffer a particular ailment for some time, and then that particular problem will cease only to be replaced by another. This continual rotation of problems seemed to be custom designed to keep us forever off-balance. We’ve taken to calling this the moving object or sometimes the item of the week. The term moving object assumes that there is a single entity behind all these varied problems, bringing on one after another, but apparently incapable of bring on all at once.
So how is the moving object showing up this
week? The disappeared problem: Gabriel is no longer choking on his milk. The
new problem: his whole body became covered with pimples (and a boil) which are
only now in decline. If you want to pray, pray for getting rid of the source of
the problems and not the various rotating ‘symptoms’.
Continuing
Epileptic attacks have continued to be very
frequent this week, making us concerned that he may have to go back into the
hospital to try out different mixtures of medicine. (The hospital seems to
introduce almost as many problems as it cures.)
While Gabriel’s drinking is better, he is
often so weak that he can’t finish (maybe because of being drained by the epileptic
fits that set his heart beating like a bird’s) so we have kept his feeding tube
in for now. He is eating solids regularly now, tho milk is of course still his
mainstay. Unlike other babies that sit up while eating, with his weak muscles he
has to remain in a lying position.

was fascinated to see how straight-forward it is looking at DNA to show that it
is designed and derives from a mind.

Bewegend Object
Al maandenlang nemen
we het volgende patroon in Gabriel waar. Hij krijgt last van een bepaalde kwaal;
en na verloop van tijd gaat die ene kwaal over maar komt er een andere voor in de plaats. Dit
rouleringsysteem lijkt erop gericht te zijn om ons uit balans te brengen zodat
ons gebed verkeerd gericht is. We zijn het een bewegend object of soms het item
van de week gaan noemen. De term bewegend
object geeft aan dat wij aannemen dat er één entiteit achter al deze kwalen
zit, die de ene na de andere kwaal veroorzaakt maar niet in staat is ze allemaal
tegelijk te veroorzaken.
Dus hoe ziet het bewegend object er deze week uit? De
verdwenen kwaal: Gabriel verslikt zich niet langer in zijn melk. De nieuwe
kwaal: zijn hele lichaam is onder de pukkels (en een steenpuist) komen te
zitten die nu pas minder beginnen te worden. Als je wil bidden, bid dan niet
voor de symptomen maar dat hetgeen erachter zit zal verdwijnen.
Epilepsie
De epileptische
aanvallen zijn deze week nog steeds erg frequent zodat we bang zijn dat hij
weer naar het ziekenhuis moet om een andere combinatie van medicijnen uit te
proberen. (In het ziekenhuis kreeg hij net zo veel last van andere ziekten als
er genezen werden).
Alhoewel Gabriels
zuig- en sliktechniek is verbeterd is hij door de epileptische aanvallen te zeer
verzwakt om zijn fles leeg te drinken, dus trekken we de sonde er voorlopig
niet uit. Hij eet nu ook pap en groente- en fruithap, maar drinkt uiteraard nog
veel melk. Vanwege zijn zwakke spierspanning kan hij niet zitten maar eet hij
half liggend.
